I’m so glad that you’ve made it over here to my website, and I look forward to getting to know you on your journey to entrepreneurship!
I’m a mum of two beautiful little boys and wife to a pretty special guy named Ryan.
Like you, I’m passionate about making the most of the time I have on this planet, and for me the most important part of that is to be able to spend as much quality time as possible with the people I love (especially my two little rascals).
I know what it is like to be where you are right now, and I’m here to help you make the lifestyle and business changes you need to make to get yourself on track to living the best life possible!
You see, before I had my kids I worked in a fast paced, high stress corporate job. I spend a lot of time studying to get that job and I thought it was what I wanted. After I had kids I had initially dreaded the idea of going back to work and having to leave the kids, but as for most families these days we reached a point where I did have to return to work. Initially this was just part time, but moved into full time when my youngest was 2.
It’s not that I didn’t like my job, in fact the job I had was the job I had thought I had always wanted, I worked with a great team of people and the pay was pretty good too. The trouble was that my job was taking over my life.
I was missing out on the little things that are really important to us mamas: the kids’ milestones, the kindy shows and the bedtime stories. I wanted to be there for those things, and I decided that there had to be a better way. I made it my mission to find that better way, and despite my better judgment I made a call to quit my job and try new ways of making money.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not for a minute saying you should quit your day job just yet.
In fact, the best course is almost always to prove you can make an income another way before you do that. The last thing you want is to have the fear of not being able to pay the bills hanging over your head while you’re trying to start a new business (not to mention that there will be costs of starting your own business that are much easier to meet if you still have an income stream).
SO, WHAT NEXT THEN?” I hear you say.
Well, if you are like I was and are looking for a better way, then you have come to the right place. It takes a lot of guts to get to this point and decide that you want to make a change, so I congratulate you for taking this journey with me.
It took me a long time to come to terms with my decision to put my old career behind me, and I learned a lot about myself along my way. I’ve also learned a load about what you should and should not do along the path between deciding to leave your day job, and creating a successful business that will allow you to lead the life you desire.
Entrepreneurship is not easy, and even in 2019 it is the road less travelled. Many people will think you are crazy, but boy if only they knew what you could achieve!
So, how can I help you?
I’ve been working through this mum biz journey for a while now. I started my first business with my husband over five years ago in the area of property investment. Since then, I’ve had a couple of other businesses and have also done some consulting work. During this time I have learned a whole load of things, and by sharing them with you I hope that you’ll be able to save yourself one hang of a load of time in getting your work from home enterprise off the ground!
The Freelance Mama’s Guide to Launching your Freelance Business will be going live in early 2019. This handy little course will give you all the tools you need to have the confidence to start your own new work from home business, so keep your eyes peeled for that one!
